About the Challenge
A European manufacturer of a process system for the healthcare industry wanted to develop their business the United States market. The company was familiar with using pressure vessels in the system.  Rather than continue to import the vessels, the company wanted to reduce costs and shorten production cycle time by manufacturing a pressure vessel for their system in the US.   

Scalable Solution
While searching for a partner to design a high-quality pressure vessel for the sterilization systems, the manufacturer chose Walker Engineered Products to do a design study. Precision stainless steel pressure vessel design for the pharmaceutical and biotech market is one of Walker’s many capabilities.  The custom designers at Walker Engineered Products worked closely with the manufacturer’s design team to come up with functionality features specifically designed to deal with the complex closures of this vessel.  The final design of the pressure vessel is scalable to meet the need for small, medium and large process systems.  

Walker designers and engineers used various engineering software to complete the study with 3-D designs, documentation and cost comparisons.  Walker is now in the process of completing the prototype and verifying production routines and cost savings for the customer. 

The successful collaboration with Walker Engineered Products enabled the customer to meet the design objectives and cost parameters of their process system for the United States market.
